Day one of the New Mexico Ice Wolves training camp began Monday, August 24. The camp is filled with returners and newcomers all eager to compete for their spot on the team. After, day one was completed head coach Kyle McKenzie provided three takeaways from opening day.

Staff and players filled the Outpost Ice Arena Monday morning and were eager to get to work. Today was a day full of first impressions and everyone wanted to leave their mark.
“It was great to see everybody in the building, players and staff. Everyone was excited to be here and it will be a competitive camp.” -Kyle McKenzie
- Battle and compete level extremely high!
Day one showed no signs of the offseason slowing anyone down. The compete level resembled mid-season form.

- Returners leading by example.
The Ice Wolves have several returners that will be turned to for the standard of hockey on and off the ice. They hit the ground running and laid the early parts of the foundation.
