The New Mexico Ice Wolves took on the Amarillo Wranglers Wednesday, October 7 for the first matchup this season. The Ice Wolves jumped out to the lead almost nine minutes into the opening period as Ville Schoenborg would score his first NAHL goal. The Ice Wolves would double their lead with just one minute remaining in the first period courtesy of Max Stracar scoring his fourth goal of the season. The Wranglers would battle back in the second period as Harout Arutyunyan would score his first of the game to cut the lead in half. Ralfs Veidemanis would score on the Amarillo powerplay to tie the game heading into the third period. The third period would see Jackson Silverberg and Niklas Huson would engage in a goaltending duel make quality saves throughout the period. The Wranglers would eventually find the go ahead goal on the powerplay as Harout Arutyunyan would get his second of the game. Eric Lund would score into the empty net as time expired and earned the Wranglers the 4-2 victory. The Ice Wolves are back on the road and will take on the Lonestar Brahmas Friday, October 9 at 7:30pm CT/6:30pm MT and all of the action will be on NATV by selecting the away audio.
