The New Mexico Ice Wolves took on the Ogden Mustangs for the first time in franchise history to close out the 2026 NAHL Showcase. The Mustangs jumped out to a 1-0 lead with just under two minutes remaining in the opening period when Jakub Habla would put home a rebound. The Ice Wolves would immediately respond 90 seconds later as Anthony Leech would find the back of the net for his second of the season to tie the game at one heading into the first intermission. The Mustangs would regain the lead on the powerplay as Sam Gero would score his third goal of the season. Henry Colbert would deflect a shot from Jack Squibbs to extend the Mustangs lead to 3-1 after two periods. The Ice Wolves applied pressure in the third period but ultimately couldn’t find the back of the net and would fall to the Mustangs 3-1. The Ice Wolves are back in action October 2 in Shreveport to take on the Mudbugs at 7:11pm CT/6:11pm MT and all of the action will be on NATV by selecting the away feed.
