The New Mexico Ice Wolves traveled to El Paso, Texas to take on the Rhinos for the first time this season. Logan Hughes and Blake Clark came ready to play in-between the pipes for their respective teams. The first period saw no goals and no penalties and both net minders making impressive saves throughout. The second period saw the Ice Wolves dominate the shots on goal battle but couldn’t find the back of the net and we would head to the third period dead locked at zero. The Rhinos would find the back of the net just 30 seconds into the third period as Anthony Nolan would put home a breakaway and break the stalemate. The Ice Wolves would find the tying goal with just under six minutes remaining in the third as Porter Bayer would put home the rebound and the goal would take us to overtime once again. In overtime Koen Harrold would bring the puck into the offensive zone for a 2-1 with Porter Bayer. Harrold would find Bayer who would put the puck into the back of the net for his second of the game and the Ice Wolves would claim the overtime victory 2-1. The Ice Wolves and Rhinos will battle again Saturday, October 17 at 7:00pm MT with all of the action being on NATV by selecting the away audio.
