The New Mexico Ice Wolves and Grand Junction River Hawks engaged in another thrilling battle at the Outpost Ice Arenas. The first period saw both netminders put up zeros on the board in a scoreless first period. The second period would see the River Hawks find the back of the net three times. Brodie Donovan would find the back of the net just 2:28 into the period. Lincoln Martin would double the lead at the 8:28 mark of the second period. With only 16 seconds remaining in the second period Kasen Harrold would put home a rebound for the 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of play. The Ice Wolves would look to build a comeback as Parker Thompson would find the back of the net with just over eight and a half minutes remaining. With the goaltender pulled and under two minutes to play Parker Thompson would find his second of the game and cut the deficit to one.
