Leadership training wrapped up Wednesday, September 2. The three day experience saw the team work on communication skills as well as being a leader. Kevin Hartzell mentioned how nice it is to be back around the team and Assistant Coach Austin Alkire talked about how important the last three days were for the team.
“It’s fun to be back in Albuquerque these leadership training exercises have been great for the team. Hopefully the boys will carry it on throughout the season as much as I enjoy it I’m happy to get back home and be a grandpa.” -Kevin Hartzell
“Coming from a road trip to Pueblo straight into this leadership camp gave the guys a unique opportunity to further develop chemistry both on and off the ice. We aren’t just in the business of winning games; we have to develop people that are magnetic and impactful for those around them. The past three days nailed that idea on the head.” -Austin Alkire
“Anytime you can learn from people that have been there, done that, you take it and run with it. We have a young, inexperienced roster that benefits from being a sponge to all of the knowledge that is presented to them. I know that I have become a better coach over the past three days and that makes me excited to see how the players put pen to paper with what they learned, as well.” -Austin Alkire
