NAHL announces Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey 
Honors this week go to Austin forward Dylan Cook,, New Jersey forward Dominik Bartecko, Kenai River forward Landon MacDonald and New Mexico forward Ryan Seelinger
DALLAS, TEXAS – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending March 31, 2024.  The Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2023-24 season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Only players that are nominated by their respective teams are considered for the Divisional Players of the Week award. 

Earning NAHL weekly honors are Dylan Cook (Austin), Dominik Bartecko (New Jersey), Landon MacDonald (Kenai River), and Ryan Seelinger (New Mexico). 

Central Division Star of the Week: Dylan Cook, Forward, Austin Bruins

Austin forward Dylan Cook lit up the scoresheet in two appearances over the weekend where he combined for 10 points. The Princeton, MN native assisted on all five of the Bruins goals in a 5-1 win over North Iowa to start the weekend. In the second meet up on Saturday, Cook netted a goal and dished out four assists in another 5-1 Bruins victory. The University of Massachusetts-Lowell commit has played in 55 games this season where he has 14 goals and 37 assists for 51 points.

East Division Star of the Week: Dominik Bartecko, Forward, New Jersey Titans

Dominik Bartecko posted eight points over three games which earned him the title of East Division Star of the Week. On Tuesday, the Titans blanked the Rebels in a 4-0 contest where Bartecko was good for a goal and an assist. The Titans played back-to-back and split with Johnstown. On Friday, Bartecko added an assist, then followed that up on Saturday with a five point game adding two goals and three assists. The Mercyhurst University commit has appeared in 56 games this season and has totalled 76 points. “Bart continues to drive the bus for us offensively,” Head Coach Craig Doremus said. “He has taken his game to an entirely different level.  Him and his line have found a nice chemistry and they have been effective for us night after night.  Dom’s ability to be a leader for us has helped our team play a solid brand of hockey over the past two months.  We are so proud of him and look forward to him continuing to lead our team as we head towards the Robertson Cup playoffs.”

Midwest Division Star of the Week: Landon MacDonald, Forward, Kenai River Brown Bears 

Landon MacDonald was instrumental in the Brown Bears weekend success adding seven points over three games. In a three game series in Kenai against  the Jets, the Brown Bears went 2-1. MacDonald started off the weekend adding three assists in the Brown Bear’s 10-5 victory. Saturday was another high scoring affair where Kenai won 8-7 in overtime, and MacDonald was all over the scoresheet with two goals and an assist. Sunday Janesville took the win, but MacDonald added an assist in the 7-2 loss. This season MacDonald has played in 38 games and has combined for 14 points. “Landon was an integral part to our success this past weekend and over the last several weeks,” Head Coach Taylor Shaw said. “He has really bought into finding his identity as a player and it showed with his great play over this past weekend. Landon is an outstanding person and we are excited to watch him continue to develop his craft.”

South Division Star of the Week: Ryan Seelinger, Forward, New Mexico Ice Wolves

Ice Wolves forward Ryan Seelinger was a key part in New Mexico picking up four points over the weekend in a sweep against Corpus Christi. Friday night the Ice Wolves edged the IceRays by a score of 5-4 where Seelinger combined for four points with a goal and three assists. In the following contest, the Downers Grove, IL native added two goals in the Ice Wolves 6-3 win. The Miami University commit has played in 56 games this season where he has accumulated 49 points. “It’s great to see Ryan get recognized for player of the week,” Head Coach Phil Fox said. “The way he’s been playing this second half of the year has been huge for us. He’s a “rookie” who has played nothing like the label. He took that second half step you want all those first year players to take. He really used the strengths of his game to give our team and himself a big four points last weekend in the standings.”
