(Albuquerque, NM) Monday, October 26, 2026 — The New Mexico Ice Wolves today announced the team will wear Día de los Muertes themed uniforms during their Halloween Party weekend home games ahead of the traditional Day of the Dead holiday. These special uniforms are a nod to the Mexican holiday celebrated annually on November 1 and 2 with Día de los Muertos dedicated to honoring and celebrating the lives of deceased loved ones. At the heart of the special uniforms is a stylized take on the NM Ice Wolves award-winning logo with vibrant floral patterns mixing together with traditional celebratory elements including decorated sugar skulls, ornamental floral patterns, festival masks and prominant candles intended to guide spirits to their family’s ofrendas which are traditional offerings placed at a home altar during Día de los Muertes.

As part of their ongoing partnership with the NM Ice Wolves and continued commitment to the community through support of youth sports and local events Sandia Area Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the Día de los Muertes uniforms. The NM Ice Wolves will wear the special uniforms during a two game homestand against South Divison rival Houston Bulls on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31 with both games starting at 6:30pm MT at Outpost Ice Arena in Albuquerque. The NAHL is part of the USA Hockey National Junior Development Model, which includes the USHL, the US National Team Development Program and the NA3HL where the NM Ice Wolves have a development team that also plays at the Outpost Ice Arena. The NAHL works closely with NCAA College Hockey, the NHL, the USHL, and USA Hockey’s National Development Program in order best serve as an imperative piece in the development system for collegiate and professional hockey.
