Junior hockey doesn’t happen without host families. You provide a bedroom and two meals a day from late August through April. We provide $425 a month, 15% off at Chilly’s Pro Shop and the Center Ice Grill, a coordinator on call, and a young man we have interviewed, background-checked and vouched for.

We keep three to five families ready and waiting, so that when a player needs a home we already have one. Most families tell us the same thing at the end of the season: they thought they were doing us a favor, and then the summer visits started, and then came the wedding invitation.

69 college commitments since 2019. 33 of them NCAA Division I.

Notre Dame. Maine. Michigan State. Brown. Army. Air Force. Seven seasons of young men who came to Albuquerque and moved up — some straight to college, some by way of another league, some on to professional hockey.
