The New Mexico Ice Wolves are nearing the end of an excellent regular season. As they prepare for playoffs, the Ice Wolves host a busy weekend at the Outpost Arena. There were big checks on and off the ice, as the Ice Wolves hosted Dirty South rival Oklahoma, and Sandia Area Federal Credit Union made generous donations to sled, youth, and girl’s hockey in the area. On Friday the Ice Wolves host Happy Gilmore Fan Celebration Night, before paying tribute to ten veteran players who have helped shape the culture with Age Out Night on Saturday. While Happy Gilmore was a two-sport athlete, the Ice Wolves would like to put their golf clubs away for a while and go on a deep playoff run. With a roster filled with “playoff guys,” and the New Mexico Difference in full effect, the goal is to turn Albuquerque into hockey’s happy place as the team works to bring a Robertson Cup to New Mexico!
