The North American Hockey League is the League of Opportunity. With 15 players committed to play NCAA Hockey next year, four at NCAA Division 1 schools, the New Mexico Ice Wolves are living proof of how the NAHL builds college-ready hockey players. Head Coach Kyle McKenzie is proud to see so many of his players continuing their hockey journey at the next level, but he’s also disappointed with how the season finished. We Are Ice Wolves takes an inside look at how the Ice Wolves are building their roster at Main Camp in Minnesota, and the important role that key returners like Jake Kasay, Noah Teng, and Jeremy Sprung will play next season. Coach McKenzie is tasked with building a team ready to withstand the physicality that is the norm in the NAHL’s South Division. As the calendar flips to the to ’26-27 season, it’s safe to say the Ice Wolves remain hungry for more, as they look to fill a roster with dogs on a bone.
