Albuquerque, NM – The New Mexico Ice Wolves are pleased to announce they have signed 2001-born goaltender Béni Halász to a tender agreement for the 2020-2021 season.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Budapest native spent the 2019-2020 season with EHC Linz II (Alps Hockey League), appearing in 12 games and finishing with a 5.55 GAA and a .874 save percentage. Halasz has also been a member of the U16, U17, U18, and U19 Hungarian National Team dating back to the 2016-2017 season.

NM Ice Wolves head coach Phil Fox says, “We’re very excited about bringing in a goalie like Beni into our organization. He has a tremendous work ethic and his commitment to getting better is what I like to see from your players in this organization.”

“I think we have a world class goalie in Béni,” Fox continued. “His passion for the game and his work ethic are some of the best I have seen at his age. Beni has seen a lot of shots and ice time in his young career. We look forward to having that experience in net.”
