Ice Wolves tender forward Jake Keller

Mar 24, 2021

The Ice Wolves are excited to announce that the team has signed forward Jake Keller to a tender agreement for the 2021-2022 season. Keller is a native of Swansea, IL and has spent the past two seasons playing at Wayzata high school in Plymouth, MN (USHS-MN). The 5’10” forward is currently second on his team in points with 26 points (13 goals and 13 assists) in just 18 games. Keller, whose older brother Clayton Keller plays forward for the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL, has also spent time in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) during the 2019-2020 season where he played 13 games with the Minnesota Magicians in the Midwest Division.

With the signing Jake Keller is looking forward to making his move back to the NAHL. “I’m very excited to sign a tender with the New Mexico Ice Wolves and I’m eager to start this next chapter and progress my game to a new level.”

NM Ice Wolves head coach Phil Fox is encouraged by what Keller may bring to the team. “Jake is a player with a high hockey IQ and solid offensive skill set,” said Fox. “He played well in the Minnesota HS Elite league last summer and that carried over into a great season with Wayzata high school in his senior year this season.”

Keller joins recently tendered forwards Sullivan Scholle, JD Metz and Brayden Ring in the team’s recruiting class for the 2021-22 season.
