Ice Wolves tender Grant Ellings

May 4, 2021

The Ice Wolves are excited to announce that the team has signed forward Grant Ellings to a tender agreement for the 2021-2022 season.

Ellings has spent the previous two seasons playing at Benilde-St. Margaret’s School (USHS-MN) in St. Louis Park, Minnesota and for Team MAP South Hockey (UMHSEHL) in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. The 6’0” forward played 41 games in the 2020-21 season between both teams and ended with a combined 30 points (8 goals, 22 assists).

The Minnesota native is looking forward to continuing his hockey career and is excited to join the NM Ice Wolves in North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) tough South Division. “I’m honored to get an opportunity to play in the NAHL with a great team in the New Mexico Ice Wolves and improve my game and make new friends and teammates,” said Ellings.

NM Ice Wolves head coach Phil Fox thinks Ellings has the skills the team is looking to add to the lineup next season. “We’re very excited about signing Grant to a tender for next season as he is a superb skater and has a ton of offensive talent that he generates with his speed and size,” Fox said. “Grant is someone who we followed all year and we believe he will be a nice addition to the roster.”

Ellings joins recently tendered players Aidan Emerson, Blayde Pogreba, Brenden Coon, Jake Keller, Sullivan Scholle, JD Metz and Brayden Ring in the recruiting class for the 2021-22 season.
