Today the North American Hockey League announced that the New Mexico Ice Wolves have been named the league’s Organization of the Year. The award is given to the organization that exemplified the most outstanding development of its team and players.

“To be recognized this way in our first season is incredible and the honor belongs to our fans, partners and entire community who energized the team and organization with their early and solid support,” said Stan Hubbard, owner of the NM Ice Wolves. “Our young team improved through every game this season thanks to a dedicated coaching staff, incredible host families, a new hockey training center and nearly unlimited ice time to work on their strength and skills. The entire Ice Wolves organization is extremely proud to be representing our Land of Enchantment and our fans and sponsors who believed in us from the start. We look forward to celebrating with our community at an appropriate time and to an even more successful season that will start this fall.”

“We have an outstanding group of players whose commitment and focus was made possible by the incredible support from our amazing host families that took such good care of all our players, welcoming them into their own homes and introducing them to our community,” said Phil Fox, head coach of the NM Ice Wolves. “This award recognizes our players, host families and definitely our fans because the energy they gave us for every sold out home game made our first season one that we will always remember.”
